Why Neuro Performance Will Give A Competitive Advantage For Your Athletes

How To Use Neuro Performance To Give Your Athletes A Competitive Edge

We all focus on developing physical qualities such as speed, strength, power, agility, balance, and coordination....but what if we are missing a critical component to our athlete's development?

This episode of the Coach Your Best Podcast is about developing an athlete's brain and includes 'Technology You Should Know'.

I have a conversation with Grant Hayes and the concept of Neuro Performance as we discussed:
  • What's one or two of the biggest myths/mis-understandings by coaches when it comes to brain training for athletic performance?
  • What do you mean by the phrase Neuro Performance?
  • Walk us through your Neural Hierarchy model?
  • So 'vision' training is more than just focusing on flashing lights in front an athlete?
  • How does 'plasticity' and deep practice tie back in to the Neural Hierarchy?
  • One example I have heard you share is that tight hamstrings can be due to a brain issue?
  • You have just launched a brand new app that addresses both the visual and vestibular components of the Neural Hierarchy...tell us about the BeFirst app?
  • How is this different from the visual training companies currently out there?
  • Is the app appropriate for all ages of athletes?
  • When is the best time to implement this type of training into a workout?
  • Where can the listeners go to find out more about you, this type of training, and get the BeFirst app?
Grant Hayes is a sports scientist and researcher in New Zealand focusing on vision and vestibular training for athletic performance.

He is the creator of the new app called 'BeFirst' on iTunes and Google Play designed to assess and train visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive components of training athletes.

My goal is to be able to show up in the lives of coaches around the world every week (if not daily)! But in order to do that I need your help.

The way that iTunes determines which podcast shows get featured is by how many people download the podcast, leave reviews (key!), and also subscribe.

These podcasts are free and it usually takes me two days to prepare, record, edit, and produce each show but with your help I know I can help many others just like you!

I would be grateful if you took literally less than 60 seconds and left an honest review of the show. Click Here to Open iTunes
